Match Report Sat 14/1/12 - Larne Youth u13 (0) v (5) Carrick Rangers Colts u13

Carrick Rangers Colts u13 sponsored by Firmus Energy today took on current table toppers Larne Youth in their final league game before the split.

The Colts started brightly and were rewarded on 10 mins when Ben Morrison broke into the box from the left and finished into the bottom corner. 1 nil.

Neither team could really settle in the game but Carrick nerves were settled on the stroke of half time when Ben Morrison grabbed his second when he was first to a loose ball in the Larne box following Freddie Nicholls  cross.  2 nil Colts.

Carrick started the second half as they had left off and on 40 mins Sam Lilburn played a ball through from midfield for Dylan Smiley who finished high over the Larne keeper to make it 3 nil.

The game was now comfortable with Larne restricted to speculative long range efforts never troubling Dale Bodles in the Colts goal.

Carrick made some changes with Paul Gorman replacing Freddie Nicholl, Jack Magill for Ryan Jeavons and Nathan Coard for Dylan Smiley.

With Carrick having all the play, Larne heads fell and Jack Magill was played through to finished 1 on 1 against the Larne keeper to make it 4 nil on 65 mins

Ben Morrison capped of a fine performance and completed his hattrick on 68 mins bringing the final score to 5 nil to the Colts.

An outstanding team performance from the Colts with 5 unanswered goals against the top of the league side.

Joint man of the match this week to Ben Morrison with an excellent attacking performance and a hattrick and also to Ben Gardner for a calm composed defensive performance at centre mid and centre half.  Well done boys.
